Industry News: Amtrak Cascades To Resume After A Two-Year Hiatus

The Amtrak Cascades train departed from Seattle to Vancouver, British Columbia this morning for the first time since 2020. The service was suspended due to the borders between the United States and Canada closing as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. Starting today, a single roundtrip from Seattle to Vancouver, British Columbia will be offered once daily. As staffing and equipment allow, additional trips will be offered in the future. In addition to the single train trip, 4 daily bus trips will run between Seattle and Vancouver. There will also be 3 daily round trips via train between Portland and Seattle, 2 daily round trips via train between Eugene and Portland, and 2 daily round trips via bus between Seattle and Bellingham.
